The Journey of John Knobloch
John Knobloch came to the United States as a teenager to avoid being drafted into the German army. He worked for room, board, and five dollars a year on a farm in northern Illinois. He learned English, became a U.S. citizen, and later married into the family farm that shaped the generations that followed.
His story is one of sacrifice, courage, work ethic, and faith—values that have been passed down through seven generations and continue to define who we are today.
From unproven ground, a legacy was built.
The Land That Shaped Us
At the time, central Illinois was mostly swamp. Our ancestors saw potential where others saw problems. They dug and laid tile by hand to drain the fields, working season after season to transform the land.

Their work helped uncover some of the richest black soil in the world. Over generations, the family continued farming, buying ground, and building the legacy we stand on today. The patience, work ethic, and vision required to shape that land became the foundation of who we are.
